VIDEO: Striped bass fishing action
Striped bass are a popular target species for anglers on the east and northeast coast of the USA.
These fish are found in US states such as New York, Maryland, New Hampshire and New Jersey.
They can also be caught in Canada.
The biggest striped bass I have heard of weighed 57 kilograms.
I have seen footage of these fish being caught on live eel.
Today you can see Captain Blair Wiggins moving out of his Florida comfort zone to target stripers off Rhode Island.
It is believed striped bass can live for up to 30 years.
Some striped bass have been introduced to waters outside of their natural range.
Countries like Mexico, Russia and Turkey now also have striped bass in their waters.
