VIDEO: Rory's claim to fame!

I have a claim to fame. Damon thinks it is ridiculous. To be honest, most people do, however, I doubt there is anyone else on the planet who could claim the same thing. Done that. Got the t-shirts!

I will never ever forget it.

I had been living in Southampton for almost two years with two friends with which I had grown up in Port Elizabeth, Steven and Michael, and my younger brother, Gary.

Gary is only 10 months younger than I am. Don't ask. I haven't asked and never will.

Steve and I were the Coldplay freaks. In fact, the one night/morning at around 2am we got a text message from our neighbour asking if we had any other DVD besides the Coldplay live in Sydney one. We replied saying, "No, sorry!"

Long story short: We hear Coldplay are about to launch their album X&Y with a UK tour. Having already pre-ordered the album online, Steve and I were onto it like a pitbull on a postman's leg.

Track four: Fix You. That was the track. Steve and I were obsessed. Our neighbours had no choice but to love it too!

Fast forward to 4 July 2005. Reebok Stadium, Bolton, England. Steve and I were there.

I will NEVER forget what Chris Martin said: "You'er all gonna star in a music video tonight!"

And then Fix You started. I might have shed a tear. I cannot remember.

The video is below. Listen carefully. You can hear my voice right at the end. I am convinced of it.

Fast forward to 8 October 2011. I am at Soccer City watching Coldplay. Chris Martin says: "You're all going to star in a music video tonight! Don't dare laugh at our costumes."

I think I did cry. I cried because the bloody reception at Soccer City is so bad I couldn't tell anyone besides those around me. I wanted the world to know THEN!

Well, now you know. Here is the video! Can you hear my voice in the crowd?

Two of my favourite ever Coldplay songs. I am in the music videos!

Damon thinks I am being absolutely ridiculous! Listen to the audio from our show a short while ago right here:

I am putting it out there now: Do you know ANYONE who was at BOTH those concerts? Coldplay at Reebok Stadium on 4 July 2005 AND at Soccer City on 8 October 2011?

Am I being ridiculous? (I secretly know I am!) Do you have a claim to fame? We'd love to know! Leave your thoughts here, or on our Facebook page!
