Steyn verdict appeal postponed
Updated | By Staff Writer
Sanzar issued the following statement today:
"A preliminary hearing was held on 26 March in relation to the appeal by Sanzar with respect to the judicial officer's decision for the hearing regarding Francois Steyn's red card. The appeals committee directed that written submissions be made and a timetable for these was set. In addition, because of the unavailability of all parties to proceed on the provisional date of the hearing, a new time has been set for Tuesday 31 March at 8am South African time, which was the first available time and date convenient to all parties. No further comment will be made until this process has been completed."
Steyn has been picked to start at flyhalf for the Cell C Sharks against the Force in Durban on Saturday.
Gary Gold, director of rugby the Sharks, said today that he believes Steyn will captain the Sharks at some stage.
Jean Deysel has been named captain for the clash with the Force.
Nick Briant will referee a Vodacom SupeRugby fixture starting at 17h05.
