Mathoho staying at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that Erick 'Tower' Mathoho is staying at the club.

Kaizer Motaung Snr explained that Mathoho will not be leaving the club in the near future, calling him a "valuable member of the team."

It was confirmed yesterday that the likes of Itumeleng Khune, Mandla Masango and Mathoho’s partner, Tefu Mashamaite, will all be leaving the club when their contracts expire next month, with contract talks breaking down completely.

There has also been talk of Mathoho moving on from Naturena ahead of next season but Motaung Snr said: “Tower is a highly valuable member of the team and will be staying at the club. He still has two years left on his contract.”

Mathoho been included in a 27-man Bafana Bafana squad for  two upcoming matches. 

The first clash is a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on the the 13th of this month.

This will be followed by a friendly match in Cape Town three days later against Angola.
