Pedestrian killed in Umgeni Park crash

The pedestrian had allegedly tried to run across the road in the vicinity of Intersite Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle.
Emergency services received the call-out at about 7.30am today.
Netcare911's Chris Botha says the pedestrian died on the scene.
"Our paramedics from Netcare911 and other services arrived at the scene and found that it was actually a male pedestrian who'd actually tried to run across the road and landed in from of a vehicle.
"He had sustained life-threatening injuries and unfortunately died there at the scene now due to the very extensive injuries that he had sustained," he said.
Botha says the driver of the vehicle was not hurt in the crash.
