Durban man critical after being pinned under truck
Updated | By Portia Cele
Rescue Care medics say the man was lucky to escape with only moderate injuries.
The driver of the truck is also being taken to hospital.
Reports from the scene suggest the truck jack-knifed earlier, trapping the pedestrian underneath.
Traffic on the Eastbound carriageway - that's the M7 heading from Pinetown towards the Bluff - has been severely affected. The truck still needs to be recovered from the roadside.
KZN authorities are investigating an alleged hit-an-run incident on the south coast that claimed the life of a teenager.
Emergency services found the body of the boy on the N2 near Hibberdene yesterday.
It's understood the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Netcare-911 says there was nothing they could do for the boy and he was declared dead on the scene. The exact cause of the collision is still unknown.
