Historical figures' first toys

Historical figures' first toys

On Wednesday we told you about the first toys enjoyed by the East Coast Breakfast team. It got Darren thinking. He decided to trawl the internet for details on some of his favorite historical figures and what their first toys were.

On Wednesday on East Coast Breakfast we told you about the first toys that were enjoyed by Good Guy Gabe, Nararah from Afara - and me.

It got me to thinking; is there a link to who you become as an adult based on the toys you had as a kid?

So I trawled the inter-web for details on some of my favourite historical figures to see if there was anything to this theory.

I wasn't able to glean anything significant but it was fascinating none the less.

Here is the list of historical people and what their first toy was...

Einstein: compass

Madela: slingshot

Neil Armstrong: toy plane

Helen Suzman: toy cows

Steve Jobs: transistor radio

Louis Pasteur: sketching and painting

Joan of Arc

Leo da Vinci: Lyre

Napolean: small brass canon

Abraham Lincoln: wagon

Marie Curie: Memory games
