The Ghanaians went as far as the last eight at the 2010 showpiece in South Africa.

They were unfortunate not to secure their spot in the semi-finals after being denied on penalties by the Uruguyans.

The Blacks Stars along with Ivory Coast and African champions, Nigeria, are Africa's only real hopes at the 2014 tournament.

Ghana are in the same World Cup group as Portugal, Germany and the USA.

Brazil and Croatia will get the 2014 spectacle underway in the opening fixture.

"Big Phil" - the Brazi coach - says he expects an all-South American final.

Scolari believes his team will meet Argentina in the July 13 decider at the Maracana.
