5 killed in horrific Ladysmith crash
At least five people have been killed in a horrific crash on the N11 just outside Ladysmith in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
A truck and a car collided near the Driefontein turn-off earlier this morning.
Although the exact cause of the crash is still unknown, reports from the scene suggest one of the vehicles may have failed to stop at a stop sign.
All of the victims had been travelling in the car.
Transport's Zinhle Mngomezulu says the death toll from the accident could still rise.
"Five people so far can be confirmed as deceased. We're still looking for the sixth body underneath the vehicle," she said.
