Tansnat clarifies use of municipal buses for ANC anniversary event
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Bus operator Tansnat has come out in defence of eThekwini Municipality - by saying the vehicles used to transport ANC members to Soweto for the party's anniversary celebrations, were hired by the party.
Questions were raised on social media - after photos showing Durban Transport buses at the ANC’s 105th anniversary celebrations were circulated online.
Some social media users accused the party of abusing public resources.

Tansnat's acting communications manager, Vuyo Mkhize, says the party paid to use the buses.
"That conclusion could only be arrived at because someone would think that because it's municipal buses - they're being deployed on that basis or they're just being made available to the ANC to use free of charge by the municipality. No - that is not the case. The ANC placed an order for special hire with Tansnat Durban as they do, and as they've done numerous times before," he said.
