Updated | By Lauren Beukes
A surfer has died after being rescued from the water at Durban's Battery Beach.
Medi Response's Kimberly Liell-Cock says the man was pulled from the backline by his two children on Friday.
They told paramedics that the man was feeling unwell.

"On assessment, Medi Response advanced life support paramedics found the patient to be experiencing a heart attack and worked to stabilise the critically-ill patient on the scene," says Liell-Cock.
"Unfortunately, the patient's condition worsened rapidly, and despite prolonged resuscitation efforts, the man was eventually declared dead on the scene."
