Oscar Pistorius matter now over: expert
A KZN legal expert believes we're likely to have seen the end of the Oscar Pistorius matter.
The North Gauteng High Court yesterday sentenced Pistorius to six years for the 2013 murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
Karthy Govender, who is with the University of KwaZulu-Natal says, has been speaking to Newswatch after yesterday's ruling.
"Its been a long process, a long trial so I think its likely that this is now the end of the road. Generally, [Pistorius] will now have serve two thirds of that sentence" he said.
Pistorius' legal team said yesterday that the former Paralympian will not appeal the sentence.
