Estcourt family in critical condition after ingesting poison to cure COVID-19
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Six people from Estcourt have been taken to hospital in a critical condition - after consuming a poisonous substance.
It's alleged they were told by someone they trust that the substance - - believed to be cattle deworming medication - would help cure COVID-19.
KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service's Craig Botha says five of them are members of the same family - and the sixth their employee.

Botha says they'd gone to the doctor on Wednesday - but required further treatment.
"This happened at a doctor's rooms in Estcourt where the patients went to for attention. They required critical care assistance and stabilising their conditions after ingesting poison.
"The oldest patient was a female in her mid-80's, and the youngest patient was a female aged 11."
