Education MEC offers condolences to families of Ntuzuma crash victims

KZN MEC for Education, Mthandeni Dlungwana, has sent his condolences to the families of four pupils who were killed in a crash involving a bus and a taxi in Ntuzuma, north of Durban, this morning.

The children were aged between 12 and 16-years.

The department says the pupils were from the Isivandanda Technical High School and Isibonelo High School in KwaMashu.
Emergency services say more than a dozen other passengers - many of them children - were also hurt in the crash.
Dlungwana is visiting the children receiving treatment in hospital.
"We are shocked to hear that a number of our learners have actually passed on because of the accident that has happened at Ntuzuma this morning. We passed the first condolences to our families of those learners that have passed on, as well as the schools where these learners were attending school," he said.
