WATCH: 16 Days of Activism: KZN youth have their say
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The start of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign has got youngsters in KZN talking.
The campaign runs annually from November 25 until December 10, and this year’s theme is “Count Me In, Together Moving a Non-Violent South Africa Forward."
South Africa will also mark its 18th year of participation in this global initiative - which throws a spotlight on the plight of victims of abuse, and creates a platform for awareness around the scourge of abuse plaguing our country.
During these 16 days of activism, people are encouraged to engage in discussions around all forms of abuse. The aim is to educate, and to highlight the shocking statistics relating to all forms of violence against women and children in SA.

Abuse across all spectrums remains indiscriminate of race, age, or creed. Everyone is susceptible to abuse - including men, who also remain victims of domestic and sexual abuse, but whose plights are often untold.
During the course of this campaign, Newswatch will be featuring the stories of former victims of abuse, experts in the field, as well as organizations that play a pivotal role in assisting victims and survivors of abuse - be it physical, sexual, or emotional.
For day one of the campaign, we took the discussion around the abuse of children to the kids of KZN.
They've spoken to Newswatch about what laws they would pass to protect children if they were the president of South Africa. Watch their responses below:
