0% matric pass rate for dozen KZN schools
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
As some learners receive pats on their backs for a job well done in the 2015 matric exams, this hasn't been the case at a dozen KwaZulu-Natal schools where no one passed.

The Charles Hlengwa High School in the Ugu District is
among them, having performed worse than its 9.1% pass rate in 2014.
The school is among nine other schools in various KZN districts identified by the Department of Education as having progressively performed below 40% for the past 5 years.
Hot on Charles Hlengwa's heels is Mshiyane High School in the iLembe District, which achieved a 7,5 % matric pass rate, although a notable improvement from 2014's 4%.
KwaZenzele High School from the worst performing district in 2015 - which is Umzinyathi - has scored an 18% pass rate, down 1,5% from the previous period.
Uyaya Secondary School, near eEshowe in Zululand was the highest performer in the group, with 33.3% of learners there passing their National Senior Certificate exams.
Of the eleven other schools that have a 0% pass rate, one is in the uMlazi District, one in iLembe and another in uThungulu. Two schools are in Zululand, three in uMgungundlovu while another three fall under the uMzinyathi District. At all but two of the schools, the number of learners who sat for the exams did not exceed 30.
