COLLECTING YOUR WALK NUMBER:

Venue: Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Expo Xplore Court (near the rock climbing wall)

You will receive an sms with your race number prior to the event. Please ensure that you bring this race number with you when you collect your walk pack. If you forget your race number, go straight to queries who will provide it for you.

If you are sending someone else to collect on your behalf, please ensure that they have all of your relevant details as well as a contact telephone number should we need it

 Pre entered groups of 6 of more will be packed as a bulk collection and will need to be collected by one representative.

Pre entered groups of 5 and below will be packed as individuals

PLEASE NOTE:

Your friends and family can still register at walk pack collection on Friday, 18 November and Saturday, 19 November

 No late entries will be accepted on event day and you will not be able to collect your walk number at Chris Saunders Park on Sunday 20 November so please collect on the above mentioned dates

EVENT DAY: 

Venue: Chris Saunders Park, Centenary Boulevard, Umhlanga

Time:  08h00

PARKING:

Parking will be available in Gateway Theatre of Shopping and in the Gateway Precinct, standard parking rates apply

Please do not park on pavements or in any way illegally, your car will be towed

 We suggest that you give yourself at least an hour to get parked and walk across to Chris Saunders Park

POOCHES:

Bravecto, the chew for ticks and fleas that last 12 weeks, will be looking after your pooches on the day

There will be a holding area on the field for all walkers with dogs. Your start time is at 08h15. This is a dedicated start for walkers with dogs. Please ensure that if you are walking with a pooch you start in the second group.

 There will be water stations available at all the human water points for your best friend.

Please ensure that dogs are kept on leads at all times and bring a poop bag to clean up after your pets

There will be a finish water point at Chris Saunders Park as well as a Bravecto photo booth for your pooches

On Route & At The Finish: 

Take a selfie at one of 1st for Women’s hot spots along the route and post it to Twitter or Instagram. Include the #SistersWithBlisters hashtag and tag @1stforwomen to stand a chance to win one of five R1 000 vouchers after the race!

  • aQuellé is the official refreshment sponsor, offering hydration along the route and at the finish line.
  • There will be marshals on route. Please follow their instructions at all times. Medical support will be available on route and at the finish area.
  • To thank you for your support in taking a stand against women and child abuse, 1st for Women will be providing goodies like caps & umbrellas, warrior stripe face paint, pamper sessions and photo & video booths so you can capture your memories perfectly.
  • There will be food trucks selling delicious food, cold drinks and coffee at the finish area for you after the walk.
  • Timo ODV and The Gus Brown Band will be performing on stage after the event.
  • Planet Fitness is our official fitness partner and will do a ‘workout cool down’ after the walk.
