THURSDAY 5TH FEB

Jeremy Loops @ LIVE the Venue
The laid-back lover boy folk singer from Cape Town will be kicking off his world tour but before he leaves he’ll be playing once last show at LIVE- The Venue - tonight! You all know him from his life changing hit Down South. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 100 times. The man is incredible to watch live. He’s even written a new track, especially for us Durbanites to hear first. Tickets are R110 at the door and doors open at 8pm.

FRIDAY 6TH FEB

Musgrave Centre Rooftop Market
The Musgrave Rooftop Market started toward the end of last year and unfortunately I didn’t make it but rumour has it, it’s definitely something worth checking out. You’ll find the rooftop market on the 5th floor of Musgrave Centre. There will be some live jazz with loads of crafts and treasures. The market starts at 5:30 and closes up around 9pm. There’s no entry fee and it’s kid friendly so if you are looking for something different to do this Friday night…you know what to do. For more info check out their Facebook Event Page here.

Campus House Tour @ Wavehouse, Gateway
If the market doesn’t sound like your vibe then maybe you’ll be more interested in the Campus House Tour with some of the country’s hottest house musos. Black Coffee, Oskido, Crazy White Boy, Skeelo and Durban girl Holly Wasserfall. Sounds like it’s going to be a banger and if you’re sexy, single and ready to mingle start planning your outfit, book your tickets and get ready for that d-floor. Tickets pre-sale are R80 and R100 at the door. Check out their Facebook Page for all booking deets.

RedEyeDurban @ City Hall
So, RedEyeDurban never fails to represent the 031. This month the monumental city hall is its canvas. The outdoor stage will be busting out with live rappers, hip hop heads, dark instrumental rock, modern metal, kwaito, soulful jazz and pantusla. Inside the City Hall you can check digital film, comics, graff art, aerial art, animation, fashion, contemporary dance, theatre and poetry. Then downstairs in this really cool dungeon there’ll be more music. Tickets for students: R50 and working adults: R100 at door or via webtickets.co.za or Pick n Pay. The fabulous team at RedEye Durban has given us four double tickets and six student tickets. All you have to do is email me the band playing in the City Hall dungeon, your Name, ID Number and contact deets. Mail it through to [email protected] with the subject line 'RedEyeDurban'.

SUNDAY 7TH FEB

Bob Marley Earth Day Special @ Wahoo's
This will be the seventh Annual gathering of Rastafarian reggae bands, musicians and DJs from all over SA. The idea is to pay tribute to the legendary Robert Nesta Marley, or Bob Marley as we all know him, and his contribution to raising consciousness through reggae music. So get ready for some irie tunes with the incredible Meditators, Rasta Riddims and more. It’s free entry. One love.
