What else do you think made the basket?
It's interesting to note what South Africans are spending on these days. Especially because of the uncertainty of things. But in true fashion, Statistics South Africa have been able to break things down for us.
One of the interesting findings was that DVD players have hit the road, and CDs have been changed to include 'music streaming'. Plus gin and cappuccino sachets have been added to the consumer basket...

In the technology part of the list of items, DVD players and satellite dishes were out and we welcomed in sound bars and speakers.
Interestingly enough, "in the 2016 update, rewritable CDs and postage stamps were removed from the basket, while the VHS recorder was removed back in 2009." (Times Live)
