East Coast Radio’s Station General Manager, Boni Mchunu said that she was so proud to see ECR making a tangible difference to schools in KZN.

“Today has been nothing short of heartwarming. Apart from the donations made during Toy Story 2018, Toys R Us and Babies R Us, the Department of Education, ECR staff and presenters were also present to contribute their 67 minutes by installing libraries, assisting with paint work, providing a feeding scheme and playing a game of soccer with the kids. For me, today is all about remembering Tata Madiba and as ECR, we are using our power of education because education extends beyond skills for economic growth, it can contribute towards nation-building and make an enduring change,” said Mchunu.

Nicole Jansen Van Vuuren, Marketing Manager at Toys R Us Babies R Us said that they could not be more excited to see the impact that the donations made on through Toy Story has made.

“Today is an incredible day. We are so proud to be partnered with East Coast Radio for Toy Story 2018 and to be here to see the difference that was actually made to the school is something special. Thank you KZN and Thank you East Coast Radio,” said Jansen Van Vuuren.

All four schools also received stationery packs provided by Freedom Stationery to help them pave their way to a brighter future.

East Coast Radio would like to thank the people of KZN who have contributed towards the Toy Story 2018 campaign, the rebuild of these schools would not be possible without their donations. KZN’s NO.1 Hit Music Station now looks forward to a bigger and better Toy Story 2019 campaign.
