I was deeply saddened to hear of Themi's passing. He had the ability to light up a room and have you hanging off every word when he told a story or spoke of the arts.

I have so many happy memories of Themi and the Catalina Theater. The space was a safe haven for creativity and expression.

When I first met Themi, he cast me in a play as a Mexican senorita. He worked tirelessly getting me and the accent ready. I remember spending hours reading through the script at his kitchen table. He had such love and dedication for everything he was involved in.

I loved how he would chat and peer over the top of his glasses as his molten voice slipped out. When I first heard he was sick, I sent him a text message of love and he replied that it was the love of friends, family, and the community that would keep him going.
