There's a common quote that I've seen floating around somewhere which goes along the lines of, 'If you see me in a fight with a bear, pray for the bear'. I always laugh it off, and never thought anyone would actually take it seriously.

However, a man from Russia has come forward with a shocking claim that he has allegedly fought off a bear by biting off its tongue. What?!

Daily Sun reports that the man named Nikolay Irgit was out in a local forest collecting antlers of deer and elk when he was approached and allegedly attacked by a bear.

It is said he had no weapons to protect himself, and then proceeded to punch the bear and bite off his tongue.

Thankfully, the man lived to tell his tale, but he did walk away with a few bruises.

If that wasn't bad enough, the man and his hunting friends walked away with a fine for illegal hunting.

Talk about a bad deal. Yikes!
