A man by the name of Jon Gleason took a plunge at Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, leaping from a ledge 35 metres above the water below him, but he hadn't foresee what was going to happen next.

This brave man was out with his friends for some fun cliff diving, when he took a jump of about 115ft while trying to transition into a reverse spin in the air. How scary?

Even though it seems as though he has done this before, he lost control during his dive in the air and when he hit the water, his arms were seen flailing helplessly as he panicked.

With a dive like this, Gleason was probably travelling at 55mph as he hit the water, given the height he had jumped from.

Thankfully for him, one of his friends was in the water ready and waiting for him in case the stunt did indeed go wrong - imagine what could have happened?!

Reflecting on the attempt, he later said:

This young man should definitely count himself lucky and thank his guardian angels, because things could have been worse.

The impact from falling into the water from a great height like that can cause so many serious injuries- with people potentially suffering concussion and broken bones, and a risk of being knocked unconscious as a result of the speed of the collision. This man must count his lucky stars!
