A video of Ukrainians taking a Russian tank for a joyride has gone viral.

The war in Ukraine continues to wage on and has left locals in a state of panic.

For many locals, it has been a surreal experience, one driving a mass exodus to neighbouring countries like Poland, including South Africans living in Ukraine.

Videos of Ukrainians putting up a fight against the Russian soldiers have made the rounds on social media, with people from around the world praising them for their resolve during this crisis.

One of them going viral on social media is a video of Ukrainians who captured a Russian tank and took it for a joy ride in the snow-ridden parts of Kharkiv, Ukraine.

In the video, the man who captured the video reportedly says 'we did it' and 'glory to Ukraine' in his native tongue as his friends laugh.

Newsweek reported that tanks, other military vehicles and weapons have been abandoned across Ukraine. It is believed that many demoralized Russian troops have surrendered without a fight or fled the battle at night.

Social media has been an important platform for both Russians and Ukrainians to share footage of activities taking place on the ground.

Other videos gone viral

The war between Ukraine and Russia has the entire globe up in arms - we are all scared and uneasy because we are all somehow implicated.

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a special military operation, saying he wanted to protect people against bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime. 

There have been videos and live streams detailing the havoc of these attacks in Ukraine which are claiming the lives of innocent citizens. 

Actress and model, AnnaLynee McCord, shared a video with hopes to somehow reach Vladimir Putin and make him withdraw all sorts of violence.
