A local bride has turned the usual father-daughter dance on its head, and we absolutely love it!

Listen as Meg Ross talks about her proudly South African father-daughter dance, or read the details under the podcast.

No one loves a proudly South African story as much as Jane, that's why she beamed with joy when she came across about a very unique father-daughter dance.

The act of a father-daughter dance is a very sweet tradition that has gone back many years. It's a sweet moment when 'daddy' realises that his little girl is now grown up, and will have to leave his home to start a new journey with her partner.

The two most common father-daughter dance songs usually are either 'Dance With My Father' by Luther Vandross, or 'Butterfly Kisses' by Bob Carlisle - two songs that usually see guests reaching for the tissues once they play.

However, one KZN bride has gone the not-so-traditional route by jiving along with her dad to Miriam Makeba's biggest hit, 'Pata Pata' which is an upbeat, proudly South African tune.

Good Things Guy reported that Megan Ross married her now-husband, Jethro on the 20th October right here in KZN, and thankfully for us one of her guests, Rob Jardine was there to capture the vibey moment.

"Best father-daughter dance EVER 🇿🇦 💃🏻," Rob captioned the post.

It's not quite the song you'll expect to hear during a father-daughter dance, but surprisingly it works and is bound to get your feet tapping.

Watch below:

"I love the choice of song, and its a splendour to witness the delight of them doing this together. I have been to a few weddings where the choreography is on fire on the dance floor, but this is next level. This is really such a special moment," said Jane after watching the video.

Congratulations Megan and Jethro. Here's to a future filled with many more epic dance moves.
