The first day #BackToSchool: Where has the time gone?

The first bell of the school year has rung, and Jane cannot believe how fast time has flown. She took a moment to look at her not-so-little kids.

Listen as Jane talks to her daughter about how she feels going into Grade 1, or read the details under the podcast:

There is much excitement in the Thomas house ahead of the first day back at school. The joy and nerves of meeting new friends, finding out who their class teacher is, and, of course, the uniform and moving up a grade.

My daughter Lula had a dry run the night before getting dolled up with her full uniform, hair accessories, shoes and white socks. My heart could have burst. I can’t believe how far we have come from having three kids in nappies to now a not-so-little one in Grade 3, and the twins going into Grade 1 - how quickly time has passed.

I wish I could slow down time, but instead, I beam with pride and let them soar onwards.

Dear Cooper, Rocco & Lula, words can’t describe how proud dad @durbanboyred and I are of all that you are and what you have achieved in getting this far, a world away from you 3 rumbling around in nappies. I hope this year is all you wished it would be and more. Choose to be kind, if you see someone having a hard time be there to comfort, if you see someone has no lunch be there to share, if you hear someone being unkind match it with something thoughtful, and remember the bully is the kid that needs the love the most. Be brave, have fun and as always try your best, keep in mind anything is possible. Choose to show up with a happy face and positive attitude, lead with your heart, continue to shine. I love you to the moon and back, and back, and back, and back.......xxxx Mom
