Let it be said from the outset that I have the utmost respect for DJs.

This skill, although made to look easy by the pros, is actually an art form. How do you play music that keeps a dance floor pumping? Well, it's about reading the crowd and playing the right music accordingly.

Research has been released by FiveThirtyEight showing a list of songs that couples ask their DJs not to play at their weddings. This is once again a testament to the fact that I'm not sure you want me playing at your wedding. I'd play a huge whack of these songs. I mean, just this past weekend I was at a wedding and the 'Cha-Cha Slide' (which is on the list) had the floor jamming in choreographed unison.

Of the 15 banned songs on the list, I wanted to shed some light on the top five. I was shattered when I saw it, as some of my favourites are on the list. No!

Number 5: YCMA - Village People

Number 4: Cupid Shuffle - Cupid

Number 3: Macarena - Los Del Rio

Number 2: Cha-Cha Slide - DJ Casper

Number 1: Chicken Dance

I guess each to their own. I actually don't see anything wrong with having these played? For me, it's all about feeling and enjoying the music - whatever it may be. As long as I can feel the beat, then I'm happy.

I caught up with Michael 'naughty mix' Zumarus Maximus about the time he cleared a dance floor at a wedding, it's hilarious! Take a listen
