The women, aged between 50 and 80, are talented on the field as they tackle and move with speed to score legendary goals.

According to Times Live, teammates Anna Kgofelo, 70, and Meriam Mushwana, 65, returned from Russia last Friday. They were invited to the Grannies Summer Football Championships but did not get to take part because there was not enough money to send the entire team.

The team was started by Rebecca Ntsanwisi, a social worker in Limpopo, in 2003 after seeing the need for a therapeutic release among the senior women. What started as a way to stay fit has become a way of life for these women.
