The Majorette-Sport World Federation, referred to as MWF, is the internationally-recognised federation for the sport of Majorettes. The Federation was established with the objective of developing Majorettes throughout the world.

Durban Girls' High School has been invited to compete for South Africa in the world championships. 

In case you didn't know, a majorette is a baton twirler whose twirling performance is often accompanied by dance, movement, or gymnastics; they are primarily associated with marching bands during parades.

I have such respect for people who can multitask like this. I can't even master the whole tap your head and rub your tummy at the same time thing. I also battle with running a bath and talking on the phone at the same time.

At this year's event, 1,000 international athletes are expected to attend from countries like Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, Russia, and Poland.

Some of the competitors from Durban Girls' High School have also achieved their South African colours and will be competing for the country as well.
