Top 10 Do’s and Don’ts in Dating
Dating can lead to all kinds of tricky situations. To help you navigate even the most awkward moments, The Socialite has compiled a Top 10 Do’s and Don’ts when it comes to dating—some new, some old—given to us by experts, moms, women like you, and even Amy Shumer…
1. DON'T dress younger than your age. If you’re closer to getting arthritis than acne - don't wear any Surf brands. You’re no longer a “Bad Boy”
2. DON'T let on that you've been Google stalking your date
3. DO work your charm. Fluttering your eyelashes, gazing into your date's eyes at strategic moments -- there's no shame in flirting
4. DON'T mention your ex – Talk about a mood-killer
5. DON’T get drunk. There is no upside to this. The trick is to get tipsy enough to be hilariously funny, intelligent and confident but not drunk so that you lower your standards and impair your ability to hurry out of there if it becomes boring or creepy
6. DON'T bust out those dance moves you last used in '90s. They're even worse now!
7. DO have a friend on call if your date is a weirdo and you need to execute that escape plan stat!
8. DON’T come on too strong - A first date is not an audition for marriage - It's just a try-out for a second date
9. DO remember that you're still highly dateable, even if your date isn't cool enough to realize it
10. DON’T use cheesy lines. Unless you look like George Clooney pick-up lines are not okay
