East Coast Drive highlights of the week: Close calls and the news that shook South Africa

We saw a miracle in the flesh, we went through a national crisis, and we fought for South African women.

The spearfisherman that had a close call

We caught up with 48-year-old Connie Hallowell who experienced a tragic accident. He was out spearfishing when suddenly the gun went off and went through his head. Thankfully he lived to tell the tale.

The xenophobia crisis

Xenophobia reared its head in our country this past week - and it wasn't pretty. We got Bongani to share his thoughts and even heard from a South African who spoke out against the crisis that gripped the nation.

Bongani's Top Five dedicated to women 

Bongani shared his Top Five things South African women can't do that men can with KZN on Tuesday. His message comes after the death of Uyinene Mrwetyana, the 19-year old UCT student who was brutally abused, raped and murdered, which left many South Africans in tears. He shared a Top Five that got us all thinking.
