South Africans suffer from FOBO?
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
How many hours do you spend online? Here's an interesting study on how long an average South African spends online.
Are South Africans addicted to their phones? iFix did a study and
social experiment to find out. Watch the video to see some of the
staggering results.
The phone repair company surveyed South
Africans and found that two thirds of people surveyed are addicted to
their smartphones. A staggering 68% of people surveyed said they look at
their phones more often than they look at their partners.
The study aimed to determine the prevalence of FOBO (fear of being offline) and PSA (phone separation anxiety). Once the study was complete, iFix challenged South Africans on social media to see how long they could last without checking their phones. The shortest time was 2 minutes and the longest time was seven hours and 8 minutes.
