Social Media exposes Anorexic Mannequins
Updated | By ECR Breakfast
Oasis, a store located in London has been caught under a thumb war with twitter followers around the globe, as a picture of skinny-legged mannequins was made viral.
The promotion of an unhealthy image has Oasis in hot water as report show that a number of complaints have been made to the store yet no change had been made.
Rhiannon L Crosslet shared a photo of the mannequins on twitter that had been taken by her friend, and the globe was ready to agree with her. Oasis fashion spokesperson defended the store saying the mannequins are meant to be an artistic representation of the prop, as opposed to the expression of how women are meant to look.
Last July Topshop was also under fire for having unrealistically skinny mannequins and eventually had to have them changed.
This is disgusting, damaging and irresponsible @oasisfashion, not to mention really weird. pic.twitter.com/ZzlnwAPp6f
