Six steps to becoming a better person before breakfast
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
How you start your day makes a huge difference to how well it goes, so here are six steps to make you a better person before breakfast...
We can only imagine that no one enjoys getting out of bed in the morning and springing into action before hitting the snooze button a few times and actually end up regretting it when you end up late.
We live in a fast-paced world, with roles and responsibilities to our families, ourselves and our jobs, so how we start our day is very important as it sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Here are six tips on how to make you a better person before breakfast:
1. Wake up an hour earlier than usual - forget the snooze button and strive to be an hour early, that way you'll get a lot more done, things you didn't even think had to be done. Waking up early will keep you a step ahead of your daily schedule.

2. Stay hydrated - drinking water in the morning wakes your body up, re-energising your cells and kickstarting your metabolism, according to Rania Batayneh, MPH, a nutritionist and author of “The One One One Diet.”

3. Exercise - this will give you a boost of energy, shaking off the tiredness from your body. Exercise is important to keep your body fit and alert.

4. Make your bed - making your bed every morning is said to increase your general productivity. "It's a “keystone habit” that can spark “chain reactions that help other good habits take hold", says Charles Duhigg in his boo "The power of habit".

5. Keep a record of gratitude - write down what you're grateful for. This will increase your positivity and encourage you to work harder.

6. Follow the news - keep informed and clued up on what is happening around you and the world at large. This will increase your general knowledge on important matters that affect your life in a big or small scale.
