The Oscar nominations are out – and my votes are in!

There’s been a buzz in award ceremonies in the entertainment industry since Ricky Gervais went on stage to host the Golden Globes earlier this month. Now that The Oscars have released their nominations, the world will once more wait with bated breath to hear who takes home the golden statuette.

The latest chatter says everyone is raving about ‘1917’ for Best Picture, but I’m rooting for ‘Joker’ to tap dance off the stage with that award.

I almost feel sorry for those nominated in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role - anyone in the same category as Kathy Bates must know they won’t be holding that shiny statuette unless they borrow it from her. When it comes to the male version of that award, however, I really, really, REALLY want Brad Pitt to get Best Actor in a Supporting Role, but come on, seriously?! He’s up against Tom Hanks, Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci!

Leonardo DiCaprio is a shoo-in for Best Actor, but can you just imagine ‘Joker’s’ Joaquin Phoenix getting it! Just think what that will do for stand-alone - unapologetic - dark DC characters going forward?! Huh? (DC rules - Marvel drools).

Even though our girl Charlize Theron didn’t want to go on a date with me, I’m still cheering her on for her 4th Oscar nomination.  This will be her 2nd Best Actress win, but she already lost out when it comes to my affections.

And Academy; it's time. Quentin Tarantino has got to get Best Director. Stop being silly, the man is a directing genius! This could be a Happily Ever After!

For those that haven’t seen the nominations in the categories that I’m looking out for, here they are:
