KZN fishing fires up after the storm

KZN fishing conditions are looking good for the weekend. Shad, kob, and rockcod are active along the coast, and offshore pelagics are showing up along the colour lines.

The coast is calming down as the weekend approaches, and fishing conditions in KZN are looking typical for this season.

In the latest Angler News South Africa podcast, Vinesh Soogreem and his team share updates on what’s biting, from the rocks and surf to offshore waters.

Coastal fishing

Rock and surf anglers can look forward to shad, rockcod, kob, and bronze bream where there are sandbanks, holes, and white water. The north coast is getting better, the central areas have mixed catches with shad active on beaches and piers, and the south is producing bream and bigger non-edibles.

Offshore action

Snoek, couta, dorado, and tuna are showing up along the colour lines and in slightly deeper water. Getting results depends on using the right speed, depth, and presentation.

Inland fishing

Trout fishing is good where rivers are clearing, and stillwaters are settling, while local bass fishing is turning up smaller fish.
