The app recently announced new features hoping that these enhance the experience of users.

1. New Groups feature, Communities

This feature allows people from separate groups to join under one other group. Imagine an entire company having sub-departments.

The feature will also have new tools for admins, including announcement messages that are sent to everyone and control over which groups can be included.

2. Admins can delete messages from any other users

Some may love this one! WhatsApp group admins will be able to remove problematic messages from everyone’s chats.

3. Facebook like emoji reactions to messages

You'll be able to react to messages like on Facebook. You just have to tap and hold a message that you want to react to and then drag your finger to the appropriate emoji. The reaction will appear below the text and will be visible to all members if it's in a group.

4. Voice calls can have up to 32 users

WhatsApp will introduce one-tap voice calling for up to 32 people with a new design for it, too! The entire family and extended family can definitely join this one!

5. Listen to voice notes before sending

You can now listen to your voice notes before sending them. Before this, all you could do is just send immediately then listen after sending.

6. Files up to 2GB can be shared

For now you can only send and receive a file that's 100MB. The updated version will allow for bigger files to be sent to you!
