Good Mauling on this Monday morning. This is the first proper full week of October, so we hope it starts as good as the Springboks are having it. We'll end with their victory story. Oh, and Sky's Skop n Dop ! 

To kick off today's 'Five Things', we have news of the SA National Editors Forum who have called on law enforcement officials to crack down on those who attack journalists. The most recent incident was an attack on Newzroom Afrika’s Eastern Cape team whose belongings were stolen while they were live on air covering a news story in East London.

The minister of Forestry, Fisheries, and Environmental Affairs, Barbara Creecy, said that an entire ecosystem, which includes the oHlanga tributary, the uMhlanga estuary, the beaches, and the coastal environment, has been seriously affected and may take several years to recover from the fallout from a fire at the UPL chemical warehouse in July.

Two new species of dinosaur have been discovered in the south of England. The first specimen named Ceratosuchops inferodios has been labelled a "horned crocodile-faced hell heron”, after its hunting style. The second has been called Riparovenator milnerae, which translates as "Milner's riverbank hunter".

The Springboks have won! The Springboks bounced back with a hard-fought 31-29 Rugby Championship triumph against the All Blacks on the Gold Coast this past Saturday. Well, Sky definitely lost his bet there.
