East Coast Breakfast's Digital Producer stars in reality show
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
Our Digital Producer is always behind the scenes making the team look good, but this time she is the one making waves on our TV screens.
'Tropika Island of Treasure' (#TIOT8) season eight premiered on Monday, and it stars our very own Digital Producer, Lisanne Lazarus.
Lisanne is a 22-year-old broadcast graduate and is a very familiar face in and around Durban, as she has many titles under her belt.
You may recognise her as the former Miss eThekwini 2014, Miss DUT 2015, Miss SA Campus and Miss Ushaka First Princess 2016, as well as Miss Mamelodi Sundowns KZN and National Second Princess 2017.
She teamed up with a celebrity and six other teams in the Maldives as they took on challenges to win a whopping R1-million.
The reality show is known to be the five-star version of 'Survivor'. Lisanne told the team that she did not plan on auditioning for the show.
It was never my intention to audition for the show. I was working at Gateway at the time as the social media manager and Tropika had been hosting auditions there. I was there doing social media when my manager suggested that I enter. I was skeptical but thought, why not? I filled in a form and got an audition number.- Lisanne Lazarus
Lisanne said that she had missed her turn to audition and her entry form had the words 'No show' written next to her name when her manager at her previous organisation had asked how the audition went.
When Ayesha, my manager at the time, asked me how my audition went, I froze because I didn't know how to tell her that I dodged it. So I eventually went to the Tropika team and explained to them that I was working and missed my turn and if I could get a second shot. They gladly agreed and well, the rest is history.- Lisanne Lazarus
She said that she was extremely excited to visit the Maldives, as it has been on her list of places to visit for a long time.
You can catch Lisanne on 'Tropika Island of Treasure' every Monday evening at 7:30 PM on SABC 3, where she promises that there will be a lot of nail-biting moments.
