With the cost of almost everything going up, there is nothing better than buying something and knowing you made the right decision.
Danny wanted to know: What are three things you have bought that are worth every single cent?
One listener from the Bluff said an inverter had completely changed life at home, while a large outdoor awning meant the family could host functions without hiring a venue.
The third essential on the list? A Cloud Nine hair straightener — because, in her words, “a girl’s gotta slay.”
Hair straighteners proved to be a popular investment, with another listener joking that without hers, she would look like Simba the lion every day.
Other worthwhile purchases included:

- Noise-cancelling headphones
- A coffee machine or coffee plunger
- An air fryer
- A power bank
- YouTube Premium
- Electronic salt and pepper dispensers
- A reusable shopping bag that folds into a handbag
Some listeners took a more sentimental approach.
Valerie from Pietermaritzburg said spending time being pampered at a friend’s hair salon was money well spent, adding that good food and good company can sometimes be priceless.
Another parent nominated her 15-year-old son as all three answers rolled into one — from hospital and school fees to the teenage hormones, attitude and backchat.
And Lisa may have delivered the most unexpected answer of the day: her divorce lawyer was worth every single cent.
