Meta just dropped something that sounds like it belongs in a spy movie… but it’s real. You can now have private “Incognito Chats” with AI on WhatsApp.

Yes, your WhatsApp chats are slowly turning into a mix between ChatGPT and Mission Impossible.

In a move that has people curious, confused, and probably already testing it with “Does my crush like me?”, Meta has officially launched Incognito Chat for WhatsApp and the Meta AI app.

According to Meta, the feature is designed to offer a “completely private way to interact with AI.”

The company says these chats are processed inside a secure environment that even Meta can’t access.

The conversations disappear by default, aren’t saved, and stay visible only to the user.

Meta explained that people are increasingly using AI to ask personal questions, whether it’s about health, finances, career advice, or other sensitive topics.

The idea behind Incognito Chat is to create a safer and more private space for those conversations.

How does it actually work?

When you start an Incognito Chat with Meta AI on WhatsApp, you create a temporary private conversation with the AI assistant.

The chat isn’t stored, messages disappear automatically, and Meta claims nobody (including the company itself) can read them.

This honestly sounds great… until someone accidentally sends “How to tell if my boss hates me” to the family group instead.

The tech giant also revealed that it’s working on a new feature called Side Chat, which will use the same private processing technology.

This tool will allow Meta AI to quietly assist users during WhatsApp conversations by understanding the context of a chat without interrupting the main conversation.

Basically, your WhatsApp AI assistant is about to become that one friend who always has advice… whether you asked for it or not.
