A video shared by Arrive Alive appears to show a man and a woman distracting an elderly shopper and allegedly stealing his car keys out of his pocket.

While it might be Cybersecurity Awareness Month, paying careful attention to in-person crime remains a high priority.

Criminals are always lurking and might seem unsuspecting, but they move with motive and intention. CCTV video footage from a retailer in Centurion, Johannesburg, shows how easily the elderly man's car keys could get snatched.

In the video, a man and a woman, who appear to be working together, allegedly target the unsuspecting shopper in a busy aisle. The pair, both with their own trolley each, distracts the shopper - the woman from behind and the man in front of the customer.

After the woman passes the shopper and pushes her trolley to the side, it appears she puts her hand in the shopper's pocket in search of something. Meanwhile, her alleged accomplice can be seen knocking his trolley into the shopper, who is unaware that he is being pickpocketed.

Within seconds, it appears the woman drops something on the floor, and as the shopper is seen leaving the aisle, the suspected male accomplice is then seen picking up what looks like a set of car keys before walking off.

Surprisingly, no one else in the busy aisle suspects a thing.

According to the information posted by the Arrive Alive team, the elderly man's vehicle was later reported stolen.

It seems criminals targeting vehicles have upped their game from remote jamming and are now more focused on stealing car keys and other belongings from shoppers at busy supermarkets and other busy public places.
