Watch: When Damon attempted a 2018 South African viral challenge
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Fainting was the order of the day back in November when our very own Damon Beard attempted one of South Africa's biggest viral challenges.
Inbetween cabinet reshuffles, a new president, and record-breaking petrol prices, 2018 was also the year of viral challenges.
One of the most recent challenges which shook Mzansi to its core was the Idibala Challenge, which was made famous by Limpopo-born musician King Monada.
The challenge, which required people to 'faint' when the word 'Idibala' is said, was made famous by the song Malwedhe - which means 'illness'.
Videos of the challenge spread like wildfire through social media.

And, of course, our very own Damon Beard attempted the challenge alongside Traffic Reporter Jayshree Parasuramen in the studio, and it left us all in hysterics.
"It was the most random challenge ever. I actually could not believe my eyes when my Producer showed me the videos of people fainting everywhere. However, after I attempted it, I could understand how pointless and hilarious it really was," said Damon.
