If you have a best friend, you have the moral duty to go out of your way to show respect to them and have their back. It's a basic rule. But at times, in certain situations, you find yourself having to think twice about speaking up - especially if it can emotionally break your friend to pieces.
This is what a listener is currently going through. She has found herself divided down the middle about revealing something about her friend's boyfriend Ayanda* which could potentially break their relationship.

Here's the message she sent to us:
Hi Damon. Help, please! My best friend of 20 years, who is like my sister, is dating a guy for about 6 months. Things seem steady - oh at least I thought . He has become a good acquaintance and didn’t seem like a bad guy. This past weekend I saw him at a restaurant with another woman, in the VIP section of the lounge/restaurant. I texted him immediately to fake check up on him, and he lied about his whereabouts - said he’s home with the flu. I have the screenshots to prove that he blatantly lied to me. I love my best friend but do I get involved here or stay out of it? I owe it to my bestie, right?
