As a kid, we all had dream jobs. Whether that was to become an astronaut or a magician, it was something that we had a passion for. Very rarely though do we hear about kids actually being able to pursue their passion at the tender age of nine...

Well, this young man, Sorbono Isaac Bari, found his passion very, very early in life. He said that his passion for maths started at around 1 or 2 years when his father was still a student and would write down equations on a black board in the room he was in.

This is where his fascination began. "The Da Vinci Institute for Technology Management has announced that it will be bestowing the Da Vinci Laureate: Social Architecture on 9-year-old professor Soborno Isaac Bari in Modderfontein in Gauteng." (IOL)

The Chairman at the Da Vince Institute, Sechaba Motsieloa, said that Professor Bari symbolised a "hope of a new way of being...he does inspiration a generation that can look at using science and math to solve new complex problems..." (YouTube)

Amongst being the youngest professor in the world, he is also an author, and had been nominated for a Nobel Prize. He also received an honour in the form of a letter from former USA President Barack Obama.

He says that he wants to change the education system by actually teaching people about maths, and that it's not boring but an opportunity to play with numbers and be creative.

"According to the institute, he was only 7 years old when he received his first salary from Mumbai University’s Ruia College, as a guest professor." (IOL)

This nine-year-old is a clear reminder that playing is sometimes exactly what we need to be better versions of ourselves. We love that he said that even geniuses need time to play and that playing can inspire creativity and energy.

Professor Bari also has his own YouTube Channel, you can check out it here, it is a good source for your kids when it comes to learning about science and maths.
