Lego, the ultimate favourite at the Ofori house, but at what price?

Did you hear about the most expensive Lego set in South Africa?

Lego, the ultimate favourite at the Ofori house, but at what price?

Lego has owned the market of building blocks since as far back as we can remember. They have owned the market so well, that everyone refers to any other building block in the market as Lego.

Some may think of this as a negative, but it's actually a compliment. It's like when people refer to all glue sticks as 'Pritt'... You catch the drift?

Anyway, as much as it has traditionally been a brand focused on providing entertainment to children, that is no longer its only target market.

The biggest fan of Lego has got to be Carol Ofori's son, who absolutely loves building three-storey houses with his regular Lego. He's a kid who knows what he wants, very much like someone else we know... Hint, hint, nudge, nudge...

Little Ofori shared that he wanted a Lego plane during the festive season and this is what went down...

Lego, the brand that has surpassed toy status, and moved into collector's item!

"Most high-end Lego sets are Star Wars-themed, but other pricey buys include a Titanic scale model, Caterpillar bulldozer, and luxury cars. But picking the right set might make you a few grand - if you don't break the seal, and know what to look for." (Business Insider)

Whatever the motivation is for you to have Lego, its original purpose has clearly shifted. It's not just an educational toy anymore, it is a collector's item and can earn you some money. Who would've thought?
