Carol Ofori: "I wish my grandmother could see me now!"

Happy Grandparents Day! We take some time to appreciate the grandparents that we have all been blessed with...

National Lipstick Day: The different shades to Carol Ofori
Carol Ofori

This week was a special week as Carol Ofori shared an interview with the creator of the kids series, 'JoJo and Gran Gran', Laura Henry-Allain. She shared that she watched the series with her own kids and one episode in particular tugged at her heartstrings.

This was the episode where JoJo and Gran Gran went to the hairdresser. She spoke about how this made her think of her own grandmother, as well as the cultural connection of a trip to the hairdresser.

Carol shared some special memories about her grandmother a few months ago for Gorgeous Grandma Day. We thought it was important to remember those truly forgotten, our grandparents.

Today is Grandparents Day and we wanted to encourage you all to remember your grandparents. Whether they are still with you or not, it's so important to just make sure that they know that they are important to us, and that we appreciate all that they have added to our lives.

Many of our households in South Africa are actually led by our grandparents, they are that part of our lives that offer love, that unconditional type of love. They lead us and they nourish us, both with amazing food for our tummies, our minds, and our souls.

They are the ones that can treat you and treasure those special bonds with you because it is their time to enjoy that kind of parenting that doesn't necessarily have to be stern or disciplined, but rather exciting and fun.

Listen to Carol's beautiful memories with her grandmother who she called, Mummy D.

Check out the episode of 'JoJo and Gran Gran' that Carol Ofori found sentimental.
