Milky with a chance

Milky with a chance

A night filled with Stolen dances....

So it's not every day you get to meet one of your favorite bands ever never mind host their concert. Well on Friday I got to do both of those things.

German duo Milky Chance kicked of their South African tour right in my backyard in Hillcrest. A few weeks ago George Ezra was there but the mood was slightly different. This time around Durban came to have fun and boy was it fun.

Some of the most talented bands in SA came along to support. The weather was amazing, the crowd was on form. DJs Bhashkar and Coco Loco set the tone with some sick tunes, then Shortstraw, Rubber Duc, Abbey grange and The Kickstands set the stage alight and got the crowd warmed up and ready from Milky.

At about 10PM. Milky Chance stepped onto stage. The people went crazy before they even started, this was just a the beginning of what was bound to be an amazing set.

What I enjoyed the most was that they changed up the way the sang their popular songs like "stolen dance and down by the river" but my favorite part of the whole night was when they all of a sudden started singing the South Africa national anthem in German accents. This was such a treat and a great way to pay respect to the audience for showing their support.

And as if the night couldn't get any better, I was lucky enough to meet them and chat to them! What a rad experience that was. It was a night I will never forget.

A huge shout out and thanks to Mr White Pro and East Coast Radio for making it happen.
