Springboks trophy bus tour routes

The 2019 World Rugby Cup champions will be kicking off their victory tour on Thursday, parading across the country with The Webb Ellis Cup which SA Rugby says it will take out insurance for, to the value of ₤30 000, roughly R570 000.

SA Rugby says it will appoint a person to manage the movement of the trophy during the tour. Only the RWC winning squad and authorised personnel will be allowed to handle the trophy. The team is authorised handle the trophy without gloves, however all other people will be required to wear gloves.

Thursday, 7 November: Pretoria parade commences at 10h00

• Enter Tshwane via N4 (Witbank Freeway)

• Turn left in Gordon / Jan Shoba

• Right into Burnett Street

• Left into Park Street

• Left into Kirknessstreet, past Loftus Versfeld

• Right into Lynnwood via Areyengtoutethrough Sunnyside

• Right into Paul Kruger Street, around Church Square

• Right into Madiba Street

• Stop at Tshwane House to meet the Mayor

• 14th Ave via Sisulu Street 

11H00 Pretoria parade ends

Thursday, 7 November: Johannesburg parade commences at 13h30

• N1 Western Bypass. TakeM1toSmit St in Johannesburg.

• Take exit12fromDe Villiers Graaff Motorway/M1

• Continue on Smit St. Drive to Simmonds St

• Team Stop at FNB Offices

• Right into Anderson Street

• Left to Soweto Hwy/M70

14h15 Johannesburg parade ends

Thursday, 7 November: Soweto parade commences at 15h00

• Bara to Maponya mall

• Straight along Chris Hani to Koma road and Jabulani Mall

• Bolani Road to Hector Peterson Memorial

• Drive down and join the Klipspruit Valley Road

• Drive behind Orlando Stadium

• At the traffic light turn right

16H00 Soweto parade ends

Friday, 8 November: Durban parade commences at 10h00

07H30 Depart OR Tambo Airport for Durban

City Hall: Coach, Captain and Trophy will depart the bus and greet the Mayor of Durban on the City Hall steps. Each person will give a short speech.

• Follow Anton Lembede Street

• Right on Joseph Nduli Street

• Right on Dr Pixley Kaseme Street

• Left on Stalwart Simelane Street

• Left on Braam Fisher

• Right Samora Michel

12H00 Durban parade ends

• Lunch at Moses Mabida Stadium with the Sharks and the City of Durban

• Durban City Officials interact with the players

• 13h30 Team Bus departs for Durban Airport

Saturday, 9 November: East London parade commences at 10h00

• Depart East London City Hall

• Follow Oxford Street

• NY Express

• Turns into MadtasneAccess

• Spine Road (very long Road)

• Left on Jiba

14H00 East London parade ends

• Drive to East London Airport (10km –15 Mins)

• Fly to Port Elizbeth

• Team stay in Port Elizabeth for the night

• Trophy secured for the night

Sunday, 9 November: Port Elizabeth parade commences at 10h00

• Depart Port Elizabeth City Hall

• New Brighton

• Kwazakhele–Wolman Stadium

• Zwide

• Motherwell–Peace Park

• Uitenhage

• Green Acres Mall

13H00 Port Elizabeth parade ends

Greenacres stop

14h30 Team bus arrives at Greenacres

• Key Springbok Team members go onto stage and speak to the crowd

• Trophy to be displayed on a plinth and with World Rugby Branding

15h00 Team bus departs for Port Elizabeth Airport.

Monday, 10 November: Cape Town parade commences at 10h00

Lanaga Parade:

• Jakes GerwelsDrive

• Left on Washington Street

• Left on BhungaAve

• Into Rhodes

• Back onto Washington Street

11H00 Langa Parade ends

• Team depart for Cape Town

Monday, 10 November: Cape Town parade commences at 11h30

• Depart City Hall

• Darling Street right into Adderley Street

• Along Adderley, left turn into Strand Street

• Up Strand Street and left into Long Street

• Along Long Street, right into Buitensingel

• Up Buitensingeland right turn into Loop Street

• Right into Hans Strijdom Avenue

• Left turn into Heerengrachtat the Fountain Circle

• Right turn into Hertzog Boulevard

13H00 Cape Town parade ends

• Team to Cape Town Stadium
