Tucker, who is best known for playing the role of Detective James Carter in ‘Rush Hour’, said he was excited to be in Durban, “This is my first time in Durban...beautiful city; I was looking at it on the plane and flying over the city and man I am excited.” His Durban show takes place at the Durban ICC on Friday.

The acclaimed actor and comedian opened up about having a girlfriend who might just be the one and even told listeners about how his friendship with Michael Jackson started, “I think he knew I was a big fan of his because in every movie I always have something in it about Michael Jackson. I got influenced by him - growing up with Michael, like everybody else. I met all his family members before I met him…I wanted to meet Michael and I was like where is Michael?”

Tucker spoke candidly about his career from early days and who influenced his comedy career to his most recent projects. He admitted, “All the stuff we did back in the nineties we can’t do now, it’s crazy!”

So what does Tucker make of South African comedian Trevor Noah? “I think it is great for comedy, Trevor Noah is smart and he’s coming from the outside looking in and some of the stuff he says makes people think. He is smart and I like his comedy a lot.”
